Near the entrance of the LMSG, stands a small granite wall dedicated to those special people and organizations who have sponsored the LMSG with substantial contributions.
The LMSG is a community based non-profit organization.
Twice a year, the names of new Sponsors of the LMSG are placed upon this small wall, in memorial, as a token of our gratitude and respect for their generous efforts.
“Gene” Victor E. Breceda, June 1930 – September 2002
Forever dedicated to the vision and artistry of the Living Memorial Sculpture Garden
A kind, generous and loving man. Gene spent his entire adult life “involved with mankind”.
Following a tragic accident in 1961 that left him a paraplegic, he rose above his adversity setting an example of courage and commitment to one’s cause.
As a teacher at Yreka High School, Gene spread the story of our country and its military conflicts, instilling a love of country in the youth, and fostering in them respect for men and women of the military.
Gene, who served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, was proud to be an American. There was always a place in his heart and home for every veteran who helped preserve the peace and ensure freedoms for all Americans.
